From arrival in Auckland you will travel to the beautiful Bay of Islands and to NZ's most northern tip Cape Rienga via the 90 Mile Beach and then proceed south via Rotorua, Taupo, Mt Ruapehu, Wellington, Picton, Nelson, Lewis Pass, Hanmer Springs, Christchurch, Arthurs Pass, Franz Josef Glacier, Wanaka, Queenstown, Milford Sounds, Invercargill, Dunedin, Mt Cook, Tekapo, Christchurch and back to Auckland
Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Auckland. You will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time we will have a short tour of the city area of Auckland.
Day 2 Travel north by car or bus to the beautiful Bay of Islands with many stops on the way.
Day 3 Travel by coach to NZ’s northern most tip named Cape Rienga via travelling on the 90 Mile beach. Lunch will be provided today and you can experience ‘Sand boarding’if you wish!
Day 4 Travel to south of Auckland with many interesting stops and site seeing
Day 5 Travel to Rotorua and visit the attractions such as the bubbling hot pools and experience Maori culture
Day 6 Travel to Taupo, NZ’s largest lake and then to the North Islands largest mountain, Mt Ruapehu and on to NZ’s capital city Wellington.
Day 7 A day of visiting the best of Wellington
Day 8 Over Cook Strait on the Interisland ferry to Picton then by road to Nelson
Day 9 Nelson to Hanmer Springs via Lewis Pass. Swim in the hot pools
Day 10 Short drive to Christchurch to spend the remainder of the day site seeing the South Islands largest city and the ride on the Gondola for spectacular views of the Port of Lyttleton and Christchurch
Day 11 Tranz Alpine train ride to Arthurs Pass in the Southern Alps then by road to Franz Josef Glacier on the wild West Coast. This train journey is rated in the top 5 train trips in the world!
Day 12 Franz Josef Glacier to Queenstown via Wanaka
Day 13 A day in Queenstown riding the Gondola and the thrill of the Shotover Jet
Day 14 Travel by road to spectacular Milford Sounds for a Ferry ride and back to Te Anau
Day 15 Travel to the Catlands via Manapouri ferry ride with a visit to the underground power station
Day 16 Travel by road to Dunedin with numerous interesting stops on the way
Day 17 Travel to Tekapo visiting Mt Cook village on the way
Day 18 Travel to Christchurch with stops and site seeing on the way
Day 19 Flight to Auckland with balance of the day site seeing tour of Auckland
Day 20 You will be taken to Auckland airport for your departure from New Zealand
